[EN] With more than 100 shows across Europe and USA, Checkmate has become a favorite on the new french metal scene without any label.

In 2012, Checkmate played in France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Spain, and on the american East coast, in cities such as New-York, Philadelphia, Boston and many more.

Checkmate has just recorded their first album "Immanence", produced and mixed by Guyom Pavesi (Devianz, The Prestige) except the guitars recorded by Lucas d'Angelo (Betraying the Martyrs) and mastered by Alan Douches (Mastodon, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Whitechapel).

"Immanence" (out on june 7th 2013) switches between extreme power and aerial atmospheres. But it is above all an album built for the stage and that will undoubtly strike its listeners.

[FR] Avec plus de 100 dates ainsi qu'une tournée en Europe et aux Etats-Unis, Checkmate réussit le pari de se faire un nom sur la scène métal française sans l'appui d'aucun label.

L'année 2012 aura vu le groupe se produire en France, Allemagne, Suisse, Autriche, Hongrie et Espagne, ainsi que sur la côte Est américaine dans des villes telles que New-York, Philadelphie, Boston et bien d'autres.

Checkmate vient d'enregistrer son premier album "Immanence" sous la houlette de Guyom Pavesi (Devianz, The Prestige) excepté les guitares par Lucas D'angelo (Betraying The Martyrs) et de l’incontournable Alan Douches (Mastodon, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Whitechapel) pour le mastering. Un concept-album à la fois travaillé et spontané, qui joue avec les émotions et refuse les étiquettes du métal.

"Immanence", qui paraîtra le 7 juin 2013, alterne entre une puissance exacerbée et des ambiances aériennes. C’est surtout un album incontestablement taillé pour la scène et qui, à coup sûr, ne laissera personne indifférent.
