Bash the Trash builds, performs and educates with musical instruments made from reused and repurposed materials. We combine science, music and environmental awareness through our performances, programs and social initiatives, always focusing on how art and science work together.

Directed by the husband-and-wife creative team of John Bertles and Carina Piaggio, Bash the Trash features a national roster of over 30 musicians and teaching artists, weaving together science, music and environmental awareness.

We offer a full range of services to schools, performing arts centers, museums, libraries and many other venues across the US and abroad, including performances, school assemblies (STEM to STEAM assemblies), hands-on workshops, residencies, professional development sessions for teachers, and master classes for higher-education institutions.
