Number 5 - You like your beer cold and your ice cream frozen? Then you can thank Charles Telliar who invented cold storage. France was recognizing his contribution as well by decorating him with the cross of Legion of Honor.
Number 4 - No sleep necessary, said a Harvard Professor who claimed to live for 20 years without sleeping. And the study was validated using 'a special chair that is scientifically perfect. It was devised to aid subjects to relax as completely as a gallon of molasses on a slab of cold marble.'
Number 3 - The Sante Fe Railroad advertised trips to California “where December is like May”, with activities much the same as today - fishing for tuna, motor-boating and beach drives. “Acres of hotels and…roses, all in a semi-tropic environment” awaited the lucky travelers.
