Curfew Re-imposed in Indian Kashmir
Shops and business establishments are closed in Srinagar and other parts of Indian Kashmir today. State authorities have reimposed a curfew to thwart a march proposed by a separatist leader. The proposed route has been sealed off by security forces.

India's northern state of Jammu and Kashmir is shut down again as the state government re-imposes a curfew in Srinagar and many other parts of the valley.

The curfew is to foil a march call given by a separatist leader on Wednesday.

Several other separatist groups extended support for the march, aimed to protest against civilian killings in the valley during clashes with security forces.

Barbed wire and barricades have been put up at vantage points in the city to stop the movement of traffic.

Markets are deserted with shops and business having rolled down their shutters.

Kashmir has been locked down for most of past two months, but protestors have defied curfews to repeatedly attack security forces with stones and set police stations on fire.
