All of Me – Newport All Stars 2003 Played at the 2003 Bern Jazz Festival we see a cast of both young as well as somewhat older All Stars perform All of me. Leader for more than 50 years is jazz festival organizer and pianist George Wein who is leading the group with Warren Vache cornet, Evan Christopher clarinet, Jesse Davis alto sax, Regina Carter violin, Rodney Jones guitar, James King bass and Alvin Queen drums. These musiccians were probably hired by Mr. Wein to perform at this festival and some of ‘em probably played this festival for the first time together. Mr Wein’s reputation, the musician’s quality, technique and jazz knowledge made this one of the most exciting jazz performances, both for the listener as well as for the musicians and on top of it all, it was filmed and well recorded.
