EarthKeepers II: An Interfaith Energy Conservation and Community Garden Initiative sponsored by EPA Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, U.S. Forest Service, the nonprofit Cedar Tree Institute, Delta Green and 10 faith traditions: Roman Catholic, Episcopal, Jewish, Lutheran, Presbyterian, United Methodist, Bahá'í, Unitarian Universalist, Zen Buddhist.
The project is part of the EPA The Great Lakes Restoration Initiative.
The autonomous Northern Michigan University (NMU) EarthKeepers II Student Team has taken on the issue of protecting the 697 Michigan wolves from being hunted and slaughtered again.
The NMU EarthKeepers II student team is Katelin Bingner, Tom Merkel and Adam Magnuson.
The EarthKeepers II projects involves 30 community gardens and energy conservation audits at 40 churches and temples with grants to help pay for changes recommended by those energy conservation surveys.
