Cleveland kidnapping suspect held on $8 million bond

Ariel Castro did not look up once during his brief appearance in an Ohio court.
The 52-year-old is charged with four counts of kidnapping, and three counts of rape ---- all felonies.
Castro's attorney, public defender Kathleen DeMetz.

"He is waiving examination on each case. With respect to bond on each case, he is on unemployment and to the best of my knowledge he has no convinctions on felonies or serious misdemeanors."

"Mr Castro stands before you a capitve, in captivity, a prisoner. The women are free to resume their lives that were interrupted and also with the promise and the hope that justice will be served. To ensure that justice is served, to protect the victims and the community that Mr Castro manipulated and decievved, the state is asking that the bond be set at $5 million cas
