00:00Target just made a left. Don't lose him.
00:05Dom, where you at?
00:06I'm right here.
00:12So now we got cars flying in the air?
00:15When I saw the flip car, it just reminded me how this franchise comes up with new ideas, and it blows my mind.
00:23It's a beast.
00:25That car just looked super cool.
00:30Talk of vehicular warfare. It's a whole different level.
00:33A flip car is something that Dennis and I, we've been kind of playing with.
00:36Justin said, I want something that's gonna run head-on into vehicles and launch them into the air.
00:41The design came really from who Shaw is.
00:45Someone that will go right into the middle of a storm and demolish everything in its way.
00:50Stay on track.
00:54This car is probably the most labor-intensive car that we have. It's basically built from scratch.
00:59It's roughly based on a Formula One car. It's very low to the ground.
01:02Huge tires. The noisiest thing I've ever heard. Like having a T-Rex open his mouth right behind.
01:07Great big lump of an engine. Eight cylinder. That's producing about 500 horsepower.
01:11It also is equipped with rear wheel steering, which is operated from right here.
01:15He can turn his wheels left, turn his wheels right.
01:18Reverse steer 180s, 360s.
01:21Tank here is operating the pressure.
01:24That comes up, and that allows the cars to go over the top of it and keeps the driver safer.
01:29Here we go. Roll, roll, roll, roll.
01:32Next thing you know, this thing's flipping five police cars in a matter of 15 seconds.
01:36Driving's extraordinary. There's not a lot of room for error.
01:40That's a testament to us pushing the envelope as far as possible.
01:44It's all very well rehearsed, but we have to work well together as a team.
01:50I remember doing tests, and we built a little pipe ramp to the flip cars, and I said,
01:54well, let's just try it.
01:55And we were surprised because this flip car really flipped the police cars.
02:01So the footage in the movie is actually two drivers going head on with each other, and it really happened for real.
02:07The key is timing. My line's got to be within a couple of inches either side.
02:12If we get it wrong, the car won't flip.
02:14Justin saw the results of what we were able to do. He goes, I want you to add more police cars.
02:19Flip more police cars, crash more police cars.
02:23When you see a car tumbling or flying through the air,
02:26and rest assured that car is tumbling and flying through the air.
02:29That part has never seen people.
02:31You're going to see some real vehicle carnage.
02:34I love the flip car. I think that's what keeps people on their seats wondering
02:38what kind of car they're going to have next.
02:40And we always surprise them.
