A couple runs up a six-figure hotel bill after staying for 14 months.

Costa Brava in Spain is a traveler's paradise.

But not for one German couple who lived in a Costa Brava hotel for 14 months free of charge.

The pair reportedly checked into the Spanish establishment, under the pretense that they were planning to buy and run the business. Resulting from that lie, they got to stay in the hotel for free, claiming they were studying the company venture.

Well the couple was eventually forced to leave the hotel over a year later. By that time, they had run up a nearly $175,000 bill.

They have been ordered to pay back their hefty bill plus interest.

In another case of unpaid hotel bills, a French judge ordered the seizure of three storage units belonging to a Saudi princess so that the luxury possessions could be sold to pay off her debts.

She had rented out the entire 7th floor of the Shangri-La hotel in Paris for many months. The end result was a bill totaling over $7 million, which she didn’t pay.
