Ex-FA chief executive Mark Palios claims there is no chance football fans will obey a minute's silence for former Conservative Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher - because she was too divisive.
The show of respect had been proposed by Wigan chairman Dave Whelan, along with John Madejski, but has been met with firm resistance from both the FA and the Premier League.
And Palios, who formerly worked for the FA, believes the governing bodies have made the right decision to allow clubs to make their own arrangements.
