Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam admitted the Potters’ 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa was “hard to take”.
The Villans took the lead inside 10 minutes when Gabriel Agbonlahor struck home, while Stoke hit back late in the second-half when substitute Michael Kightly slammed in the equaliser.
But in their attempt to win the game the Potters were caught on the break and conceded two late goals, including a goal-of-the-year contender from Villa full-back Matthew Lowton.
