A special flight offers a closer view of a dazzling comet.

Want to see a comet up close?

A German travel agency has organized a flight to give enthusiasts a chance to see the Pan-STARRS comet from the vantage point of an airplane with an astronomy expert on board to answer any questions.

The Pan-STARRS comet has been getting brighter in the night sky. and Eclipse Travel in Bonn, Germany, working together with Air Partner and Air Berlin are taking advantage of the celestial happening to bring 88 passengers on a flight to view the comet.

The flight will zig-zag at an altitude above 36 thousand feet so everyone on board can get a good look at the comet.

Researchers from the Panoramic Survey Telescope and Rapid Response System in Hawaii first noticed the comet in June of 2011.

Up until March 7th, the comet is only been visible in the Southern Hemisphere. The closest it came to Earth was about 100 million miles away on March 5th.

There is another comet that has the potential to be even brighter than Pan-STARRS.

Comet ISON, predicted to be visible in November, might end up being as bright as a full moon, and perhaps even be visible during daylight hours.
