6 years ago, a woman had to face the ugly reality of the state's biased approach towards women when Gulnaz Begum was a target of an acid attack. The reason was that she was running a beauty parlour which was against the diktats of the radicals in the Valley. This isn't the first time women activists have been targeted in the Valley.
