Boston Marathon 1980 - Women's Winner Camera

Public Transportation advocate Rosie Ruiz had a cloud cast over her win. Some speculate that if modern drug tests were available back in 1980 Rosie Ruiz might have proved positive for doping. Rosie Ruiz has always insisted that she did not cross the finish line as the first woman because she used performance enhancing drugs. "Look at the thousands of people in the photo of me crossing that line with two police men rushing to get in the picture at my side. Did they run the race? Did all the thousands of people cheering take public transportation to get to the finish line. Look at the sports reporter pop tart with the mall rat blush of red highlighing her cheeck bone a little too much. Did she run the race? What are her metrics? I didn't run to win, I ran to keep a few insistent supporters back home happy. When I run I listen to my mix tape, and when I'm on the bus. Glad I had the correct change. The bus was rerouted because of the foot race, I almost didn't win." She has gone down in history as "the most famous Boston woman runner since that chick crashed the party and Johnnie Kelley pushed the broad out." The same race officials pushed Rosie Ruiz off the winners pedastal and gave the prize to some woman no one can ever remember. Rosie's post-modernist approach to solving problems comes right out of "The Importance of Being Ernest." She is a model for people everywhere. "Take the bus, and leave the driving to us."
