A gold plated AK-47 assault rifle has been seized by police.
It seems as though there is never a dull moment for law enforcement authorities around the world.
Police officials in Honduras recently seized an AK-47 assault rifle along with two magazines. The gun is unique as it is gold plated, complete with intricate carving.
It is also encrusted in jewels. The rifle is said to have a value of more than $50,000. Officers received a tip concerning the possession of various firearms.
During the raid, police obtained more than 30 weapons including grenades. Night-vision kits, ammunition, bullet proof vests, and 11 cars were also seized. It is believed the weaponry belonged to a drug gang.
In a similar recent report, two people were arrested after police in Regina, Canada seized weapons and drugs. Officers captured three assault rifles, all of which were loaded and 500 rounds of ammunition
More than 300 grams of cocaine along with 11 grams of marijuana were also discovered by officers. A 26-year-old male and a 23-year-old female are now facing over a dozen legal charges.
