Caroline de Lannoy - 2008
'dark light' is written, produced and performed by Caroline de Lannoy. Caroline de Lannoy is currently engaged in performance based work that is concerned around the use of the human voice in visual art using text, language and speech. She wants to illustrate how voice can be expressed with the means of visual arts, exploring the foundations of perception in very different ways. Her live performances meshed poetry and the visual arts. She writes scores as fragments around which she improvises. The work deals with the relationships between communication and perception, between the spoken words and its equivalent in the visual realm. The performance functions as vital acts of transfer; transmitting social knowledge, memory, and a sense of identity. It is dedicated to the represenation of the human voice – and its absence – in the visual arts.
