Cardaño de arriba pertenece a Velilla del Río Carrión. Es un bello pueblo que tiene pocas horas de sol al día y está pegado al río Cardaño precisamente.
Pude encontrar genciana a más de 2000 m. de altura. Su gran fiesta en la que el pueblo se viste de gala, es el 10 de agosto, San Lorenzo.
Aquí llegan los que quieren escalar el pico de Murcia, Peña Prieta o Tres Provincias. Pero el recorrido más socorrido es el que yo hice y que lleva al lago de las Lomas y Las Agujas de Cardaño.
