Ladakh is a region of Jammu and Kashmir. There are about 1,800 km of roads in Ladakh of which 800 km are surfaced. The majority of roads in Ladakh are looked after by the Border Roads Organization. Ladakh was the connection point between Central Asia and South Asia when the Silk Road was in use.
