Chiropractors have a common terminology for misalignments: subluxations. A misalignment of the bones that protect the spinal cord would be a vertebral subluxation, aka a leak in the roof, a kink in the wiring of your nervous system. The severity of subluxations varies, and potential contributing factors can be emotional, chemical, or physical.
