Honest Abe dropped in over the weekend, so I thought I'd play him a tune to cheer him up. "Battle Cry of Freedom", written in 1862 by George F. Root, sides firmly with the Union cause. It is still heard, usually in conjunction with presentations about the American Civil War, most notably in recent years, on the soundtrack for Ken Burns' series on the Civil War.
This arrangement for solo guitar is very similar to the performance of the song on my 3rd CD, Wayfaring Stranger, available from Amazon, Apple Music, Spotify, etc
Sheet music available (free download) on the pickndawg web site.
