Join Mark Ames on his tour of Vladivostok, the largest Russian port city on the Pacific coast. Its name means ruling over the east, and it was originally built as a border stronghold in the Far East of the Russian empire. Mark visits the largest local yacht club, Seven Feet. He also goes to an old fort which houses the city's Naval Museum. The city's used car market, called the Green Corner, where second hand vehicles from Japan are sold, also attracts his attention. Finally he investigates the influence of Chinese culture on Vladivostok, from dragon boat racing to the wide choice of Asian restaurants in the city.
