STORY :
An unusual friendship of a deer and a monkey has transpired at the Pookode Veterinary College hospital in Wayanad District of Southern India’s Kerala State. The four month old monkey and one year old deer have caught the fancy of onlookers on their extraordinary friendship.
The college authorities had got them from the deep forest. While the monkey was caught from the forest four months back, the deer was brought to the college almost a year ago. It was due to lack of space; both of them were put in a single room by the college staffs.
Meantime an extraordinary friendship was developed. Santha, a keeper at the college hospital says that the deer has taken charge in the role of a doting mother to the monkey.
While the college authorities have named the deer as Samba, the monkey is yet to get a name.
