Kindle Fire HD vs. Nook HD: How Do They Compare?
Barnes & Noble announce the newest line of Nook e-readers last week and have made some significant changes. The Nook HD and the Nook HD+ have evolved from the Nook color and have moved closer to being a fully functional tablet. The new B&N devices have impressive high-resolution displays, a fast processor, and an external storage cabability. A fair number of articles have overestimated the Nook HD as being a serious threat to the Fire HD line of tablets. The specifications of each, when compared, show that the two competitors are very similar in capability and the scales coult tip either direction, depending on the user. Amazon, however, slams the door shut by providing a huge ecosystem to accompany the Fire HD. B&N is just starting to launch the video portion of their ecosystem and, while competitive in book and magazine offerings, have a long way to go in video and apps.
