London Art Auction Houses Kate Moss Yoga Piece
- 12 years ago
An Art Auction House in London will be auctioning off a unique Kate Moss piece.
Bonhams’ flag ship salesroom on New Bond Street will be hosting an auction on October 11th. One original piece that stands out above the others is a Kate Moss sculpture. Moss appears to be in a yoga pose with her feet positioned over her head. The sculpture is part of a 7 piece edition, but this is the only one where the lips are painted vibrant red. The work is expected to fetch between $80,000 to $110,000 once bidding time comes around.
Last year, an Asian collector paid over $900,000 via a telephone bid for another Kate Moss piece. She looks like a contortionist in the statue and it was constructed of 22 pounds of 18 karat gold. Famous icons have an ability to amp up auctions. Early in 2012, a bidder paid $44,800 for a used pair of Marilyn Monroe’s underwear. She had reportedly worn the undergarments in the 1954 film ‘River of No Return’.
