They call themselves the Jasmine Brigade.

A recently formed group of rebel fighters in Syria is training volunteers and government defectors for the next battle with army forces in Damascus.

They to vow God to be soldiers of the uprising against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad which began in March 2011.

This young volunteer says he joined the group to support the revolution and prepare for big battles with the ruling regime.

The video shows the rebels on a mission to attack government army forces in Damascus.

A brief clash ensues, but the rebels quickly make their way back to base.

Meanwhile in Homs, amateur footage that cannot be independently verified purports to show an aerial bombardment of the city.

A second video shows a street filled with rubble and destroyed buildings.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the army bombarded rebel strongholds in the city using warplanes, tanks, shells and mortars in a concerted, multi-pronged attack.
