Obama Campaigns Alongside Some Of Hollywood’s Finest

U.S President Barack Obama campaigned alongside celebrities at a fundraiser in Los Angeles on Sunday. Several notable performers including Katy Perry and Stevie Wonder delivered performances before Obama took to the stage.

Obama joked that unlike the rock stars who were on before him, he doesn’t always perform so well night after night, an apparent jab at his own performance during the presidential debate Wednesday:

"Now I have got to admit that even though my staff all came over early to get the show, I got left behind. But my understanding was it was an incredible show. These guys and everybody here, incredible professionals, they are such great friends and they just perform flawlessly night after night. I can't always say the same."

Obama also took a swipe at his opponent Mitt Romney’s statements during the debate that he would cut funding for public television:

"When he was asked what he would actually do to cut spending, he said he would go after public television. So for all you moms and kids out there, don't worry, somebody is finally cracking down on Big Bird, cracking down on him. Elmo has made a run for the border. Governor Romney plans to let Wall Street run wild again but he is bringing the hammer down on Sesame Street."

The speech came after the Obama campaign announced that it raised $181 million in September, the largest total that either side as announced yet in the 2012 campaign.
