Antares Rocket Rolls Out for Hot Fire Test

NASA's partnership with industry to develop commercial cargo transportation to the International Space Station reached an important new milestone Monday, Oct. 1. A test version of Orbital Sciences Corporation's Antares rocket, which will carry Orbital's Cygnus cargo module bound for the orbiting laboratory, rolled out to the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport's Pad 0A at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. The rollout precedes a first stage hot-fire test later this year, to be followed first by an Antares test launch, then a demonstration flight of an Antares and Cygnus to the space station.
