Abstract Expressionism
This video belongs to a set of videos reflecting my collection of abstract art paintings.
Oil paintings constitute the majority of my art work although some are created using pencil and acrylic medium, beginning with my initial works from my secondary school art classes.
I enjoy painting locations where I have traveled. Many of the places in my abstract art pictures are of North America, Europe (Venice, Paris and Florence), Thailand and several cities in Australia. I work from my own images of the spots I have visited.
I also work from a selection of photos ranging from pets, animals, vacation images, flowers or a favorite object like a peacock feather.
My abstract expressionism technique is achieved with a painterly approach. I utilize coarse bristles and pallet knives to get a block-like stroke. I like using a vibrant color pallet to establish an energetic atmosphere in my abstract art paintings.
The style can be painted in photo-realism, expressionist, abstract or my personal style.
