Fearing a raid by Craig Kennedy, the Clutching Hand has all evidence associated with the Gironda kidnapping loaded aboard Captain Hansen's cargo ship “Nellie D.” Meanwhile, to eliminate the ex-convict Mitchell's ongoing threat to Mrs. Gironda, Nicky arranges to have Mitchell shanghaied by Hansen.
