Biden drawns on personal tragedy at 9-11 memorial

U.S. Vice President Joe Biden spoke of facing loss as he marked the 11th anniversary of the September 11th attacks in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, the site where United Airlines Flight 93 crashed after it was hijacked.
Biden drew on his own personal tragedy as he spoke to the families of the victims of Flight 93. Biden's first wife and a daughter were killed in an automobile accident in 1972.

"For no matter how many anniversaries you experience, for at least an instant, the terror of that moment returns; the lingering echo of that phone call; that sense of total disbelief that envelopes you, where you feel like you're being sucked into a black hole in the middle of your chest. My hope - my hope for you all is that as every year passes, the depth of your pain recedes and you find comfort, as I have, genuine comfort in recalling his smile, her laugh, their touch." .
Investigators believe passengers of Flight 93 fought back against their hijackers, before their plane crashed.
