President Joe Biden's campaign on Tuesday showed up outside former President Donald Trump's New York City criminal hush money trial in an effort to refocus the presidential race on the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection.

02:17At the end of the day, this election is about Donald Trump and his vision for the office

02:24of the president of the United States, not as a public servant who answers to the elected,

02:34to the people who elected him, but as an authoritarian who answers to and serves only himself.

02:41The fight for a lot of us didn't end on January 6th, that evening when we went home.

02:45The fight still continues now.

02:47What happened that day was an attempt to halt, to overthrow an election.

02:55Donald Trump is the greatest threat to our democracy and the safety of communities across

03:00He has encouraged and continued to encourage political violence.

03:06We've been called traitors just today.

03:09We were all called traitors on January 6th for doing our job.

03:13And yes, we protected Republicans.

03:15We protected Democrats alike.

03:17It's not about the story that we don't agree with.

03:20Political violence is never acceptable, but you have a presidential candidate, you have

03:24a presidential candidate that champions it, that encourages it, that supports it.

03:30We cannot have that.

03:31Americans need to wake up.

03:32This is not a drill.

03:34Mr. Naro said he's not trying to scare you.

03:36I just unsuccessfully ran for office.

03:41A lot of people that I met out there said they were afraid.

03:46They were scared to see what another Trump presidency looks like.

03:49I try to pride myself in having some type of way to make people feel comfortable saying

03:53some kind of a word, a hug, a look or something.

04:07We can't count on these institutions to stop Donald Trump.

04:23made a campaign event out of a lower Manhattan trial day for President Trump.

04:29In fact, Biden's cronies had a printed out campaign sign saying Biden-Harris.

04:36So why the change?

04:37Why is Joe Biden now making this a campaign event after months of weaponizing the legal

04:43system against President Trump?

04:46Because Joe Biden's numbers are in the tank and the best that Biden can do is roll out

04:51a washed up actor.
