Country Music Awards Nominations Announced

Country stars Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan announced the nominees of the 46th annual Country Music Association (CMA) awards on Wednesday in New York.
Eric Church, who received his first CMA award last year as the new artist of the year, topped the list with five nods including male vocalist, best album and single of the year.
He is closely followed by Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton who each received four nominations.
Lambert, the reigning female vocalist of 2011 was nominated in the same category again, as was Shelton who is the reigning male vocalist.
Singer Taylor Swift is going for her third entertainer of the year award, competing with Aldean, Shelton, Kenny Chesney and Brad Paisley for the top honor.
Luke Bryan, one of country's rising stars got nods in two top categories of male vocalist and album of the year.
Bryan entered the mix for the first time.

"To work hard and be out on the road and making an album and play it for the fans and then finally start getting nominated and recognition it's always very rewarding."
He said that he was hopeful to take an award back home.
[Luke Bryan, Country Singer]:
"We have a lot of shows, I am out with Jason (Aldean) touring and I got a lot of shows, working for another album going in the studio after the CMA awards. But between now and then it will just be loving everything that's going on, having a great time with everything and we shall keep our fingers crossed and maybe we can win one of those bad boys."
His close friend and touring buddy Aldean got three nominations: for best entertainer, male vocalist and single of the year.

"This is a big night for us in country music and I think every time you get nominated for any of these awards obviously that's exciting and a big thing for your career. So if you can leave with one nomination that's good, if you leave with more than that, that's just a bonus so obviously it was a good morning for us."
Aldean was nominated in five categories in 2011, and won the album of the year award with his fourth studio album "My Kinda Party."
The 46th Annual CMA Awards will air live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Nov. 1 at 8 p.m. and will be hosted for the fifth time by Paisley and Underwood.
