With the swearing in of former Vice President Joyce Banda on Saturday, Malawi has a new president.

She took over as leader after former president Bingu wa Mutharika's death in office after a heart attack last week.

But on the ground, service stations across the country are still running dry and motorists are frustrated.

Malawians have high expectations.

The new leader is under pressure to create jobs, attract foreign investment, and fix the country's struggling economy.

Al Jazeera's Haru Mutasa reports from Lilongwe.
