Guatemala suspended international child adoptions some years ago, leaving hundreds of prospective parents who were in the process of adopting in the lurch.

Approximately 400 families in the United States who had planned to adopt Guatemalan children are still stuck in a bureaucratic bungle of frustration and heartache as they try to unite with "their" children.
