Protests over fuel hikes in Indonesia

Thousands of workers in Indonesia have protested against a 33 per cent rise in the cost of fuel.

The government says current fuel subsidies cost them billions each year, but for 100 million Indonesians living on two dollars per day, the latest in a series of hikes is a step too far: low income workers say they are effectively being priced off the roads.
