Britain to expel Gaddafi diplomats

Britain has decided to expel Libya's diplomats, stating that it recognises the rebel National Transitional Council as the sole representative of the Libyan people.

Embassy staff in London have been given a period of time within which to either leave the country or, possibly, defect.

The UK has also unfrozen about $150 million in oil assets for use by the NTC, temporarily relieving an acute cash crunch in the rebel stronghold of Benghazi.

Al Jazeera's Barnaby Phillips reports from London.
