In Azerbaijan, pro-democracy advocates face major challenges

There are poor prospects for democracy in Azerbeijan, where pro-democracy activists have been calling on their president, Ilham Aliyev, to resign.
Also among protesters' demands were the removal of a statue of former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak.
In the height of the demonstrations, riot police were unable to catch up to protests, but arrests eventually stifled the demonstrations.
