Footage shows killer whale attack at SeaWorld

6 years ago8K views

Video has emerged of the moment a killer whale dragged a trainer underwater during a live SeaWorld performance.

The video, which is from 2006, shows Ken Peters being dragged underwater by his feet.

The trainer survived the incident - managing to break free after roughly eight minutes.

Peters suffered puncture wounds to his feet and a broken metatarsal ligament in his left foot.

He is still employed at SeaWorld in San Diego.

The video was recently released following a freedom of information request.

It was used as evidence in defence of safety violations issued against SeaWorld following the death of a trainer in 2010.
