Drunk Woman Gets Car Stuck on Railroad Tracks - as part of the news series by GeoBeats.

Picture seeing a vehicle stuck on railroad tracks. Now imagine the terrifying reaction if the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Local law enforcement in Indiana received a call early in the morning from a woman, claiming her sister had been in a car accident somewhere along railroad tracks.

Officers found April Hill who was disoriented and climbing a steep mound, covered in dirt and blood. Her vehicle, a Volkswagen Beetle was discovered on the Norfolk Southern Rail Road Company’s tracks lodged in gravel. Authorities believe she drove her car onto the railroad tracks and it got stuck.

Train transport was temporarily halted and Hill was arrested on charges of disturbing a train bed along with operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

In a similar headline from earlier this year, an Illinois woman drove her vehicle on railroad tracks. She told police she had been the designated driver for friends, however her bloodshot eyes and stench of alcohol tipped off officers. She failed sobriety tests, bringing on charges of driving under the influence, "operating an uninsured vehicle, and unlawful access to a restricted roadway”.
