An initial team of six unarmed UN observers will arrive in Syria in a few hours.

Another 25 will join them in the next few days. Their job will be to monitor a UN-brokered truce.

But with the government still shelling towns and opposition forces still fighting back, there doesn't seem to be a ceasefire to observe.
