Increasing pressure on Yemen's Saleh

Yemen's president Ali Abdullah Saleh is facing increased protests at home, and additional pressure from the international community.

Saleh has rejected a proposal by Gulf countries, for them to act as mediator in the country's transition of power.

He also recently withdrew his envoy to Qatar after suggestions by Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim al-Thani that he should step down.
