Jack Lalanne, a pioneer of the physical fitness movement in the US, has died at the age of 96. Over half a century, Lalanne helped popularise strength training and healthy eating habits.

He became a TV fixture starting in the 1950s, preaching the benefits of exercise and healthy eating. Tom Ackerman looks back at the life of America's godfather of fitness and popular television host.
