London became a world village as the River of Music offered free concerts across town. There were six stages across the capital: two with European acts, and then one each for musicians from Africa, the Americas, Oceania and Asia. The Olympics were in fine tunes. From Africa's superstar Angelique Kidjo in the Docklands to glam pop from New York with Scissor Sisters in the shadow of the Tower of London, there was plenty to suit every taste.
