Shuttle Endeavour Outfitted with Replica Engines

In Orbiter Processing Facility-2 at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, space shuttle Endeavour's three replica main engines were installed July 11-13. The replica engines were built in the Pratt and Whitney Rocketdyne engine shop at Kennedy to replace the flown shuttle engines that were placed in storage for potential future use by NASA's Space Launch System program.

The work is part of the Space Shuttle Program's transition and retirement processing of the shuttle fleet. Endeavour is being prepared for permanent public display at the California Science Center in Los Angeles.
