STORY: Bolivia, the world's number three cocaine producer, said that it has made record progress so far this year in programs to eradicate illegal coca plantations.
Narcotics police say they have cleared 12,600 acres of illegal coca plantations in the first part of 2012.
This exceeds the amount that Bolivian law requires the government to destroy per year, and officials said they could double that amount.
