South America's smallest nation, Suriname,is due to vote in parliamentary elections later on Tuesday.
And Desi Bouters, the former dictator, stands a good chance of becoming the next president.
Bouterse is also a convicted drug trafficker and faces trial for the deaths of 15 political opponents.
