Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Brazil's president, is visiting Iran to attend a nuclear summit hosted Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, his Iranian counterpart.

Lula says he hopes to persuade Ahmadinejad to reach an agreement with the West over Iran's nuclear programme.

Al Jazeera's Gabriel Elizondo reports from Brazil.
