A controversial monument marking 50 years of independence is due to be inaugurated in Senegal.
The 50-metre sculpture of a man, a woman and an infant has been criticised for its cost and a Muslim cleric has issued a fatwa against it, branding it "un-Islamic.
Critics say the sculpture is not only sexist and offensive, but in a country with widespread poverty, a waste of taxpayers money.
