Former Liberian President Charles Taylor has been found guilty of aiding and abetting war crimes and crimes against humanity in Sierra Leone.

A special court in the Hague convicted Taylor on 11 counts including murder, the conscription of child soldiers, rape and sexual slavery.

The verdict against Taylor is being seen as a victory by victims of the civil war in Sierra Leone.

Al Jazeera's Yvonne Ndege reports from Freetown.
