The night of Apr. 26, 2011 my cousin called and said that a trail of tornadoes was coming to my area via Alabama. That night was stormy and the next morning I went online to find out what had happened in Georgia. I found out that a little town in the mountains, Ringgold, GA, had been hit hard.

I was almost crying because I knew I had so many blessings, not one branch had come down in my yard and those folks had nothing left. At that moment, I felt strongly that the one talent I could share as a volunteer would be to give the gift of massage and take away a little of their stress and grief.

Five days later, I drove three hours north to Ringgold. That morning, I was directed by a woman at the donation center to go to Poplar Springs Baptist Church. "Oh, there's a ton of people you can help at the church down the road." She told me. I walked in and an amazing group of people, took me in and allowed me to work on volunteers and victims of the tornado. Everyone was so grateful that I had come to give them some relief of their stress.

That night I drove home -- tired but happy that I had made a difference.

Little did I know that a healing force much greater than my own, was about to be created.
